今回、「日本の医療界の女性リーダー」の一人に選出されたことを、大変光栄に思います。しかし、これは私個人への賞賛ではなく、これまで共に歩んでくださった患者様、そして日本の医療制度の狭間で苦しむ人々に寄り添おうとする「ミネルバクリニックの挑戦」そのものへの評価であると感じています。
なぜ、私は闘うのか

海外では当たり前の検査が日本では受けられない。「学会の指針」や「施設の認定」という組織の論理が優先され、目の前の患者様が置き去りにされている——。私は臨床遺伝専門医として、この「医療の空白」をどうしても見過ごすことができませんでした。
私が目指しているのは、「制度のための医療」ではなく「患者様のための医療」です。
だからこそ、私はあえて既存の枠組みに挑み、世界中の信頼できるラボと直接提携し、日本にいながらにして世界最高水準の検査を受けられる体制を築き上げました。「前例がない」「権威がない」と批判されることもありましたが、患者様が真実を知り、納得して人生を選択できた時の安堵の表情を見るたび、この道が間違いではなかったと確信します。
